Ashton Kutcher is a famous actor who appeared in several well known series and movies, such as: That 70s Show, Dude Where’s My Car, My Boss’s Daughter, What Happens in Vegas, The Butterfly Effect, Just Married, Guess Who, Cheaper by the Dozen, No Strings Attached, and Jobs.
Ashton used his successful acting career to kickstart a career in venture capital. He invests in startups and has been fairly successful in this so far.

Ashton Kutcher trains under Rigan Machado. Rigan is a very well respected coach in the BJJ community. Ashton Kutcher participates in normal BJJ classes, which include warming up, technical drills and full contact sparring.
Ashton Kutcher also got to train BJJ together with BJJ celebrity Craig Jones. You can see their training footage in the video below. Craig clearly outclasses Ashton, but nevertheless you can see that Ashton Kutcher has some real BJJ moves.

Ashton Kutcher is a brown belt in BJJ under Rigan Machado. He got promoted to brown belt in 2019, as you can see in the video below. In the BJJ belt system the brown is the last belt before the black belt. The Machados are one of the first American families to train jiu jitsu and they don’t give out belts easily, so this means that Ashton Kutcher is a legit brown belt.

Despite Ashton Kutcher’s real skills in BJJ, he’s never shown any BJJ techniques in a movie. I believe the predominant reason for this is that he always plays in romantic comedies and never has any fight scenes. However, he certainly possesses the skills to do a BJJ movie if he wants to.
How Good Is Ashton Kutcher at BJJ?
Ashton Kutcher is actually good at BJJ. He’s a brown belt under Rigan Machado and a brown belt in BJJ means you’re very good. Furthermore, Ashton Kutcher actually spars in BJJ. Many other celebrities who do BJJ only learn BJJ moves for their movies and don’t do actual sparring. But Ashton has both technical proficiency and sparring experience, which makes him really good at BJJ.

Ashton Kutcher started training BJJ for himself, not for one of his movies. He’s kept training and dedicating himself to Brazilian jiu jitsu and has now earned himself a brown belt. He’s likely to keep training until he gets his BJJ black belt. And if he ever does an action movie, we may see him show some of his jiu jitsu in a fight scene.
